Person-centered therapy is a non-directive, empathic approach that is grounded in the belief that all humans strive and are capable of personal growth and change. It is often through struggle that we develop a deeper connection to, and understanding of, ourselves.
I use a person-centred and emotionally focused therapeutic approach, called Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT prioritizes emotions and emotion regulation, helping you process key emotional experiences during sessions. I will guide you through these moments, which are central to self-identity and relationships, leading to greater balance, competence, and connection. EFT is deeply relational and grounded in attachment theory, using insights into human needs, pain, and motivations to focus each session and shape targeted interventions. EFT is supported by extensive research demonstrating its effectiveness and long-lasting impact.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy is a therapy that has been proven to be highly effective for those who have experienced trauma. EMDR therapists believe that emotional well-being is ingrained into our somatic (physical) bodies. EMDR therapy uses a body-based technique called bilateral stimulation using eye movements, tones, or taps to move a memory or sense of discomfort that has been incorrectly stored to a more functional part of the brain, allowing you relief from the effects of that memory or discomfort.
